Chapter 15: Everything Is Great! (Part 2) is the 2nd episode of Season 2 of NBC's The Good Place. It originally aired along with Part 1 as a double-length episode.
Plot[]
Having had their memories erased by ambitious master architect Michael, Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani and Jason again settle into the Good Place, unaware of what has previously transpired... except that Eleanor discovers the one clue she had left for herself and attempts to piece things together.

Jason Mendoza wakes up in Michael's waiting room, and Michael invites "Jianyu" into his office. Michael gives the same speech as he did to the other humans. He pretends to mistake Jason for the silent Buddhist monk to torture him by forcing the normally talkative young man to remain silent. Michael takes him out to meet his soulmate, who will be "Jianyu's best buddy", another Buddhist monk, Luang, and Michael says they share souls, and "Jianyu" will never be alone, because he'll be with Luang, for eternity. Jason winces at that. For the rest of the day, Luang follows Jason around, doing everything together.
In town, after they park their bikes, Jason prompts Luang into going to a store to buy a kite, and while he's gone, Jason removes a sprocket from Luang's bike. Just as he stands up with it, Eleanor runs into him, and he hands her the sprocket, which she mistook for a bracelet. Eleanor goes away with Michael, but now Jason can bike away, and Luang can't follow as his bicycle's broken. Jason eagerly bikes back to the hut... and Luang's already there. Thus, Jason's stuck with him.
At the party, Michael welcomes Jason and Luang, and tells them about Janet: she can get them anything they want, but being Buddhist monks, they are perfectly content and won't want anything. Janet gets them both glasses of yak's milk, which they are supposed to enjoy. Jason takes a sip but immediately spits it out.
Michael calls for Eleanor, the "best person" in the neighborhood, to give a speech, only for Tahani to drunkenly interrupt it, which ends in her falling over the table and causing a fire. Michael asks if she's alright, and Tahani insists she is, and shows him a shrimp that fell into one of her cargo pants pockets. Michael is not happy that things are going off the rails but tries to keep his composure.
While Michael is distracted by Tahani, Chidi drags Eleanor out of the room to say he's realized that the paper she used to write the "Find Chidi" note on is a torn out page from one of his books, What We Owe to Each Other specifically. He suspects they might have met each other before.
Michael is having a meeting with the other demons to discuss the day. Luang says it didn't go all that bad but Michael is still bothered - they needed a drunken speech from Eleanor, not Tahani, and they can't build a chaos sequence from what Tahani said because she believes that she is supposed to be in the Good Place. He asks where Eleanor's gone, and it seems she left with Chidi; Jason has also gone missing. Michael's upset that Luang lost Jason, which gets worse when Chris comes in and says he's lied to Eleanor about going to the gym when she tried to confide in him that she doesn't belong in the Good Place. Michael chews him out for his lame sounding excuses, but Chris retorts that his specialty was physically torturing humans and this job is weird. Many of the other demons seem to agree. Michael yells at them all to go and find the humans.
Eleanor and Chidi are in her house, and she tells him that she's not supposed to be in the Good Place, but somehow they met before now. Chidi doesn't know what to do, but Eleanor says they need to figure something out.
Meanwhile, Jason is walking in the empty streets of the town. He summons Janet, who addresses him as "Jianyu", and he tells her he's not Jianyu, he's Jason, he's not a silent monk, and he doesn't know what's going on here. He doesn't want to go back to Luang's hut, and asks if he can go home with her. She says she has no house, but she offers him someplace he'll like with friends. He hugs her, thankful for a friendly and helpful presence.
Chidi and Eleanor try to figure out what to do next but then Michael walks in, saying he's just going door-to-door to make everyone feel comfortable. Tahani then comes in to give Eleanor back her sash, but while she's there, she complains to Michael, saying ever since she got there, something's been wrong. Tahani is followed by Tomas, then Pevita, each looking for their "soulmate".
Then Janet brings in Jason to speak with Eleanor. Luang arrives also, and Michael says for Luang to get Jason back home, and Jason finally snaps, complaining that Luang is boring and nothing like his real best friend from Jacksonville, Pillboi, who he had lots of fun with.
Seeing this, Eleanor figures out that this is not the Good Place and reveals the note, which clued her in that nothing is what it seems. She realizes that this must have happened before, given how she wrote the note and put it in Janet's mouth. Michael praises her quick thinking, and says that he's relieved, as this explains how everything fell apart the first day, but vows he'll do better next time. Upon hearing him say "next time," Eleanor shoves the note into her own mouth, which Michael says won't work. He snaps his fingers.
Michael is again having a neighborhood meeting with the demons, saying the third time's the charm. He assures them that this time it will go right, as Eleanor hasn't left herself any per-arranged clues. Someone asks if Michael told Shawn, and Michael says that he did. He claims that Shawn is very supportive, and eager for them to get going again.
Michael is in his office when Shawn calls, asking for the morning update. Michael lies that the chaos sequence went so well after Eleanor got drunk last night, and everything is going well on attempt two. Shawn reminds him there will be no attempt three. Michael then goes to the waiting room, and invites Eleanor in for the third time.
