A Niednagel is a creature residing in the IHOP, which attaches itself to intruders and is fatal to touch (for reasons not made clear by Michael when Tahani finds one wrapped around herself). It is unclear whether there are merely one or many Niednagel, but presumably more than one. When Gen morphs the appearance of the IHOP, she makes the Niednagels appear to be a scarf, although Tahani is still warned not to touch it.
In Chapter 52, the Niednagel can also be seen in the bottom right corner of the screen coiled around a support for one of the bridges in the Doorman Hub, possibly implying that the Niednagel may have escaped the IHOP.
