Trent is an unseen demon torturer character who Chet mistakes Chidi for in the season two episode Chapter 24: Rhonda, Diana, Jake, and Trent .
Trent's human skin suit must have some resemblance to Chidi, as Chet mistakes Chidi for him.
History[]
Trent is said to have worked in the Partial Decapitations department of The Bad Place alongside Chet. Chet states that Trent left Partial Decapitations "800 years ago, or something like that". At this point Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani and Jason has been in Neighborhood 12358W for almost 300 years (or so Michael has stated), meaning Trent must have Partial Decapitations about 500 years in The Jeremy Bearimy Timeline before the series takes place.

It is unknown what part of The Bad Place Trent really worked in before the system changed in season four.
Trent's demon skin suit presumably looks like Chidi, as Chidi was mistaken for him, although it is possible that Chet just forgot what he looked like, however this is unlikely.
